Hinduism is the religion of the major population in both Nepal and India, which is considered the set of religious beliefs, religious traditions, and a way of living. It has no single scripture, no single founders, and no unified set of teachings which make Hinduism different from other religion (Senker n.p.). There are instances wherein this religion is considered the oldest living religion in the world. Since it is one of the prominent and largest religions throughout the world, application and depiction of Hinduism in modern and popular culture is an ordinary thing.

In addition, the film depicts that Hindus make the inner happiness and peace as the center of their lives instead of material things such as money. The film’s main character shows how inner peace and happiness weigh more than the materials she has. She gives up everything she has and seeks for the happiness through traveling from different places. The religion of Hinduism strongly believed that an individual who already found the inner peace has indeed found the peace that will abide by him or her forever. In addition, the religion also argues that an individual who found the inner peace transmits the peace to other people. According to Hinduism, the soul of an individual reincarnates all over again and again until it becomes appropriate and perfect then reunites with the Divine. Hindus believed that their soul will enter into different and several bodies in the form of births and deaths. The explanation of Hinduism for reincarnation is the unfulfilled desires are the primary reasons for their rebirth. This tenet also provides the devotees the opportunity to evolve spiritually through different valuable experience that they gain in their different incarnations.
The film “Eat Pray Love” is the main reason why Julia Roberts, the one who acts as the protagonist, converted into Hinduism. She decided to change her religious beliefs since the film allowed her acquired inner peace and the true value of her life. The movie serves as an awakening call for Julia Roberts about believing in something new. In addition, until now, Julia Roberts strongly believes about yoga, meditation, and reincarnation. It means that Hinduism and the film, itself, greatly influence the life of Julia
