“A person who falls and get back up is much stronger than a person who never fell.” (Anonymous) Resilience is the capacity of recovering quickly after difficulties. Resilience is important, because you can learn from your mistakes and move forward. The pact is an agreement made by the three men from the book, The Pact. The pact is important, because this agreement made by the three men is to work as hard as possible and become doctors. The nonfiction book, The Pact, proves that resilience is made up of three aspects, social support, moral compass, and purpose between these three doctors.

“We knew [the 3 doctors] we’d never survive if we went after it alone. And so we made the pact: we’d help one another through, no matter what.” (Davis et al, 2) This quote demonstrated that if they want to become doctors they have to work together. If they want to accomplish their goal, they have to help each one another. If they help one another, one could be motivated to do better, and if one gets better than the rest want starts to work hard and do even better and the cycle keeps going. “And it wasn’t social intelligence. It wasn’t good looks, physical health, and it wasn’t IQ. It was grit.” (they Key to Success?, Angela Lee) This quote demonstrated that with a positive mindset, SAm and Rameck could accomplish what they are chasing. For example, every time they have a tough time in medical school, they could still have a positive mindset and never give up. Without grit, Sam and Rameck would have just gave up a long time ago. Since they do have grit, they were able to survive medical school. All together, Sam and Rameck’s both share the same purpose, to become doctors and this goal helps them have a better
