In the movie many of the scenes are shot in the open fields with very little vegetation, and when there is vegetation it’s always the wrong type. The movies show vegetation that looks as if its shot in Tahoe or some thriving forest not a part of Vietnam. In the movie it seems as if the only thing that was accurate about the setting was the hilly terrain pf Vietnam. Overall the movie did a poor job in portraying the terrain in all accurately. The movie portrayed the fighting as mainly firearms and bombs. This is pretty much true but the actually fighting that took place differed from that of how it actually was. This is partially due to the mistake in scenery, but understandably it would have been way too hard to shoot had they accurately depicted the landscape of Vietnam. The fighting that took place definitely included fire arms, but it generally took place in closer quarters situations. In the movie often times the battle scenes would take place with the Vietcong being unseen and then appearing out of holes in the ground or out of nowhere. This was accurate as the American forces had a difficult time finding the Vietcong as they would just disappear during the day
