The opening is a cartoon with psychedelic music and out of this world spaced themed pinball game, much like the Monty python opening in “The Meaning of Life” hinting a baseline of their music style. That at the every end turns into the real opening credits of the movie filled with a variety of American popular culture icons and symbols, and some cases parodies them, such as Uncle Sam's head turns into skeletal version of himself who starts to sing the opening song, or the Great Seal of the United States on fire, further hinting at the mixture of styles the band uses in their music. To Fully grasp the band and their style we first must understand them, and their relationship with one another and the fans.

The sense of communal effort from everyone as if their one large family from everyone is immediately apparent, with the band help crew asking the audience to thank the crew for all their work at getting the show up and running. I watched Fatal Attraction with a friend and I said to him "that's what you get when you just want some fun for the weekend". Although going with Alex was a decision Dan made it was very unfortunate that the woman he had an affair with was extremly crazy. I doubt that Alex got pregnen, if she was obssesed with Dan she could have made everything up. I don't belive Dan seen as a hero at the end of the movie because it has his wife the one that had the last shot, literally in the theatrical ending and figuratevly in the orginal ending.…

The music video of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” is rich with cultural artefacts and statements. Despite their partying and free-of-care spirit, the landscape, depiction of gender, ethnicity and briefly religion could only be seen to be deliberate and well planned out. The music video is an intertextual reference to the genre of post-apocalyptic movies and dramas. The video plays with the concept of people being effected by a massive plague, which takes away your human nature upon infection.…

The 2014 short film Dead Hearts is the perfect movie to watch to close out this Halloween season. Stephen Martin wrote and directed the fantasy/horror short film as an ode to his wife, to whom he had just proposed at the time of the script’s development. He combined elements of whimsical timeless love, Kung Fu fighting sequences, and death scenes. As Stephen Martin and his wife both love horror and fantasy, he combined the two genres to make this award-winning Halloween film.…

VI very much enjoyed watching “And The Band Played On,” due to its moving (yet angering) qualities. It was effective in revealing how much politics play into health care settings, as it incisively condemned the American government’s public health policies at the time. The movie made me wonder several “what if?” questions such as: What if Reagan was not President, and instead a more liberal politician was in office? What if the greater public was more open and comfortable with homosexuality as it is now?…

When thinking of influential music artists, there are a few household names sure to come up first. Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are known as the Kings of Rock and Pop because of what they did for their respective genres, and The Beatles were a global sensation often credited with changing music forever. However, there is one name that is often glossed over. Whether it’s because they are marginalized as a hippie fad or just that the average person doesn’t stop to consider their impact, the Grateful Dead are rarely brought up when discussing influential music artists. It may not be widely known, but the Grateful Dead were the founding fathers of a whole genre of music, and also had a major role in changing the business practices of music.…

The Boondock Saints is actually one of my favorite movies as well. I got extremely excited when I read your post because not many people have seen that movie which makes me sad because it is so hilarious. I love how they wore rosaries and thought it was their calling from God to kill all those bad guys. I don't think the sequel was that bad I was kind of mad that they replaced Smecker though. I love how the movie had a mixture of genres.…

The core myth of this genre is we all live our lives like zombies, so used to our routine. Shaun of the Dead definitely remythologize the core myth, play with it a whole lot and satisfied every aspect of that point they were trying to make. We are so used to our daily life routines, that a lot of times we don’t noticed or realized what’s going on around us and Shaun of the Dead used the zombies as a metaphor of us. We are like the zombies walking around and going through life and content with our routine. A really great example is the beginning of the film.…

Forrest Gump is a film that defies the conventions of filmmaking, and in that sense it is difficult to do a typical analysis of the film. It’s not so much that the film is overly complicated or that reality is always in question or any art house tricks of that kind; it’s just that Gump doesn’t really follow any rules. We begin with the most obvious: the plot. This is a film that should have redefined the biopic. It is completely about the life and times of Forrest, the protagonist, in fact through it all that’s the only thing it’s consistently about.…
