As you already know, this movie took place in the late 1920's in California. When a big time actor is being chased by a parade of fans, he is forced to make a swift escape right into Kathy Seldon's vehicle. She doesn't react pleasantly, until she realizes it is Don Lockwood. Don and Kathy begin to argue after a short time in the car after a comment Mrs. Seldon had made. She told the George Clooney of her day that he was no artistic substance whatsoever. "Just a dumb show!" Don was a little butthurt, but she proves herself before the end of the film. Soon after that, R.F. announces that The Dwelling Cavalier is going to have sound. It was ironic that Kathy said all the things about Don, and then he gets the opportunity to prove her wrong. But
