Sometimes the movie industry believes that they can stretch a movie beyond the original story in order to capitalize on the achievements of the precursor film. This is not the case as Ted 2 fails to be as charming and funny as the original movie. The author of the films has made a career on repeating the same gags over and over on his TV shows, but when you go to a movie theater you expect to see more quality than your average TV program since you are paying for that ticket. Since I saw A.I.in 2001 I thought that is that bear could swear it would make a great movie. Well, in 2012 Seth MacFarlane had the same idea and released a movie in which a teddy bear was one of the most unbelievable thinks. On the downside, this movie is an ode to mediocrity. It does send the message that it doesn't matter if you make an effort with your life things have a way to balance. You can be pothead and still be able to have an okay like doesn't matter what problems you face. Not only he does the voice for the protagonist as he also wrote, produced and directed the film. This is one of the main problems with the movie as he is unable to direct and give a correct direction to the film. He tries to recreate a "Family Guy" episode instead of making a film. Yes, a musical number in his TV show at work a lot of times, but when you're going to watch Ted you are no expecting to have a huge musical number as the opening act of this movie. His inexperience behind at directing a movie is what gives this movie a big drop of quality and makes it feel insipid. The script on the other hand is mediocre and tends to go for the easy laugh, most of the writing he does for one of his TV shows would have a better quality than this. The essence of the first movie I lost at some point during the film as a lot of scenes seems to be forced into the equation in order to obtain something from it. The voice work is the only thing that really works for Seth in this movie. You have to admit that the guys know how to handle voice acting to perfection and this is the case. He never sounds like any other voice he has done before and that is great.
Amanda Seyfried (Samantha) is the lawyer that takes Ted's case in order to fight for his civil rights. This is a different role for Seyfried as I have never seen her before doing this type of comedy. She has interpreted a lot of the romantic leads in comedy and that part is played
