She has a lot of courage. She know who murdered Frank but she never told. That takes courage, she could have been killed or thrown in jail for holding in that information. Another example of Idgie's being a hero is when she took Ruth away from her abusive husband, Frank. That took a lot of courage, Idgie could have left Ruth to suffer but she did not. She saved Ruth from an abusive life. Finally example of Idgie having great strength is when she saved Big George from the KKK, when they were whipping him. Those are some of the few examples of Idgie being a hero. There are many examples of her being courageous and having great strength. Idgie is the main hero in the movie. Hollywood films featuring lead black characters have been in cinema for decades. In contrast, black character images that are portrayed in cinema was usually centered around traditional racial stereotypes of the past such as “Uncle Tom, “the coon”, “the brutal black buck”, and “the mammy”. The impact that the world had on the film industry pushed them toward changing the Code to a Rating system. This was the idea that there would be no approval or disapproval of the content, instead, they would give caution to parents about the movie (MPAA 52). This gave the industry a chance to break out of that constant conformity and make whatever movie they could come up with. The caution didn’t come in just a caption about the movie - it came in a certain rating system that the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), and International Film Importers and Distributors of America (IFIDA) came up with. “There were initially four categories films were placed under.…

It is estimated that by 2025 the US military will have more combat robots than humans fighting for their nation, “Intelligent robotic weapons – they’re a reality, and they will be much more of a reality by 2030,” Bassett. So, we can say that giant robots making chaos in a foreign city, controlled by someone is not something far from 2017 this meaning that what it´s proposed in the movie is more likely to happen soon, the results of this would be chaotic as already mentioned, cities could be gone just for the whim of someone. Probably wars would not be fight by men, they would be fight by robots, this is already happening, the US military is in the process of developing a “robot sniper” that will completely eradicate the snipers from the US military.…

The myth of love I would like to use for this report comes from the movie When Harry Met Sally. The movie is a romantic comedy that portrays a relationship between a man (Harry) and a woman (Sally) who realized that they both maintain opposite point of views on life, especially relationship between men and women. Harry maintains his belief that it isn’t possible for a men and woman to be friends while Sally argues otherwise. Throughout the movie they both portray different approaches on the myth of love. Harry and Sally relationship shifts from casual acquaintances that are not ford of each other and ending in a marriage rooted in a deep and meaningful friendship which demonstrated how these two characters were able to develop their relationship over time and somehow persuade themselves into a different cultural truth value about love.…

The poor in American Society are the victims of the social theory referred to as CONFLICT THEORY. The theory explains that the social STRATIFICTION SYSTEM is not functioning properly and the rich benefit more from the governmental decisions at the expense of the disadvantaged, those who rightly need the assistance. This theory is shockingly apparent in the Frontline documentary “Poor Kids”. This film follows the lives of three families’ struggling to deal with life’s most crippling situations the best way they can. The film demonstrates that being poor is not always a question of a PERSONAL PROBLEM related to the ABUSE of drugs or alcohol, but of a SOCIAL PROBLEM with unemployment, lack of job opportunities, and in this particular film, recession.…

The texts ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, written by Harper Lee and ‘12 Angry Men’ directed by Sidney Lumet; both display contrasting features and qualities. While both are very diverse texts, they both share an undeniable resemblance, in relation to a single person affecting a group 's idea of a just and morally right decision. Prejudice and discrimination are a reflection of how both the accused characters in either text sway opinions about which course of action is correct. Two of the protagonists, Atticus Finch and Juror 8, exemplify how a single individual can drastically change what those around them perceive to be right and wrong. Children in both texts, specifically Jem and scout, and Juror 3’s son, are also an example of how one person…

Copious amounts of fake blood, controversial topics, and Samuel L. Jackson, and voilá, you’ve got a Quentin Tarantino film. Add a damsel-in-distress plot stationed in the old and you have Django: Unchained. These themes have been done so many times that they shouldn’t work, and yet they do, as the 88% on Rotten Tomato confirms. The film progresses in a predictable manner that, rather than bored the viewer, has them holding their breath, hoping that what they think happens, happens. How is this accomplished?…

I have been a fan of Fight Club since the first time I saw it. I feel my understanding of the movie was largely impacted by the fact that I was not born and raised in America, and English is my second language. The first time I watched the movie, I did not even catch most of the social commentary Palahniuk had added in his work. Things like consumerism made sense, but I was ignorant of them, either because of simply being naïve or not quite understanding most of the references. Either way, the movie began to make more sense on subsequent movies as I began to get a better understanding of the American pop culture .…

Is there eternal sunshine in the spotless mind? This is the question posed by writers Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry and Pierre Bismuth in their movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This movie, directed by Gondry, explores the idea that feelings and emotions are more powerful than memories, and that if we erased all of our memories, we would still possess the feelings and emotions that were created by those memories. The movie was inspired by a male friend of Bismuth who said that he would like to have all memory of his girlfriend erased. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind tells a story about two people, Joel and Clementine, who are in a bad relationship and eventually break up.…
