Movie Analysis: Doug Swieteck Life

Doug Swieteck life is horrible. His father is abusive and his brother doesn’t care about him. Doug received a New York Yankees baseball cap worn by Joe Pepitone. It was signed by the hall of fame. His brother Lucas stole his cap and now Doug can’t find it.
Later in the week Lucas gets drafted into the Army and goes off to Vietnam, then his dad loses his job so they must move to a poorer neighbor up the state of Long Island. It's a small town called Marysville. Before Doug leaves his friend gives him a parting gift, it's a New York Yankee Jacket signed by Joe Pepitone since his brother lost his hat.

In September Doug starts at a new school at Washington Irving Junior High, he will be going into 8th grade and right at the beginning of the school year he gets into trouble with the principal and faces DETENTION. He got into a folio in the library with John James Audubon and both served detention. One day on the job Spencer’s Deli was robbed and the police suspect Doug’s brother. As the new kid in town. It's October and Lucas has been wounded in action but hopes they don't mind if he looks a little different. Doug keeps getting into trouble at the library and keeps serving dentition over and over again. In school they find out that Doug is struggling with reading, then they find out he can't read, so his English teacher Miss Cowper stays after school every day and helps him learn how to read. Doug then learned to read quickly from Miss Cowper and became intelligent, before he was a troublemaker. It’s mid-October and their local hardware is robbed, and once again Doug’s brother is the main point of the investigation. His gym teacher Coach Reed finds out he had been switching sides from skins to shirts because the skins have to rip their shirts off and Doug doesn’t want to show something under his shirt, so he could get laughed at.
