Nicole’s friends are a good example of the negative effects of peer pressure. They are always going to parties or skipping class to smoke and drink outside. Carlos, however, has a positive friend group he hangs out with in school. They are the football boys who focus on football, so they do not drink or skip class. Carlos and Nicole almost even themselves out during their relationship. High school is normally the time for first loves and relationships. Nicole tells Carlos that he is the first person she has ever loved. Nicole and Carlos do have sex within the beginning of their relationship. Nicole and Carlos did not have a talk about how sex works, so obviously they learned about it from somewhere. With Nicole’s relationship with her father, she more than likely learned about sex from media or her friends. (16-4 pp. 467, 470,
