POPE JOAN ANALYSIS
The movie started with a pope telling a story about the myth of Pope Joan, in 814BCE, this claim is a curiosity claim that poses a trial to the patriarchal nature of the Catholic Church, whereas women are prohibited from becoming priests and therefore cannot grasp each real locale of manipulation inside the institution. One of the arguments that present priests use opposing changing this discriminatory strategy is established on rehearse, as it is a fact that no woman has ever been ordained a priest. In present years, countless books and films have revived the report, allocating into question not merely the truth of the report itself, but additionally the unwillingness of the Catholic Church to accord the attendance of a female pope. Author Peter Stanford released his book The Legend of Pope Joan in 2000, in that he analyzed the facts that both supports and undermines the Pope Joan story. In 2009, Sönke Wortmann adapted a fiction novel by Donna Woolfolk Cross and released Pope Joan, a movie that rekindled the debate above the truth of the report, alongside the Catholic Church after extra recognizing it as a myth. With the production, most of the cast is male and their role have power and high class, which is it totally opposite from the female cast. Female cast in this film have a role of poor, inequity and lower class.
