According to the Huffington Post, “ Immigration and Customs Enforcement last year carried out more than 72,000 deportations of parents who said they had U.S.-born children ” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com). This means that many children were left without their parents and left to grow up without them. ARC President Rinku Sen said “Immigration enforcement greatly increases the chances that families will never see each other again. Detaining and deporting parents shatter families and endanger the children left behind. It’s unacceptable, un-American, and a clear sign that we need to revisit our immigration policies”(https://www.raceforward.org). As a result, immigration policies are under way to protect illegal immigrants and help them achieve a brighter future for themselves and their families. One act that could potential help many graduating students on the path to their future is the DREAM Act. It would provide student with many benefit they didn’t have before. It would allow illegal immigrant who didn 't have a choice when they immigrated to have a choice in their future.
