Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank Case Study

The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank (RMLEB) is a non-profit organization that services Colorado and Wyoming for donation of eyes for transplantation. The organization was established in 1982 with the assistance of the Lions Clubs of Colorado and Wyoming (RMLEB, 2016). The mission of the organization is “to fulfill the wishes of eye donors and their families to help another overcome blindness through transplantation and research” (RMLEB, 2016, p. 1). Besides providing corneal and other eye related transplantable tissue locally and domestically, RMLEB provides services to eight other countries worldwide, including Japan, South Korea, and China (GuideStar, 2016). In order to continue growing as an organization and maintaining the overseas clients the organization currently serves, RMLEB must explore other options in providing services and products overseas.

Within the project planning process, the project scope is created. The scope functions as the overall summary of the undertaking with details about all of the necessary requirements and specifications, including the project plans and documents (Vaidyanathan, 2013). Appendix E outlines the project scope statement for the AAE Project. The next document that has been generated is the requirement traceability matrix. The requirements traceability matrix is a framework to ensure that all requirements are tracked and managed throughout the project lifecycle (PMI, 2013). Appendix C illustrates the requirements traceability matrix for the AAE Project, subject to approval of the Board of Directors. Any changes or expansions will be completed by the project manager in guidance with the Board of Directors and Executive Director prior to the initiation of the project and through the change management procedures after project
