Mt. Sentinel is not the most well known mountain in Colorado, but it is very hard to climb. When you start out on the trail it really is not that bad. That is only when you start though. As you keep going on the trail, it keeps getting higher, and higher. Living in Kansas, I am not so used to intense altitudes like that, so it is easy to get out of breath. After going for at least a half hour to an hour, you realize you are not even on the mountain yet. After hiking for about two hours give or take, you are winded and about to approach the actual mountain. You have not even reached the hardest part. Once you are on the mountain, you follow a steep trail up the mountain. If you try to do any kind of running on it, that is a bad idea because waking is hard enough.

From treeline, you trudge up an even steeper path for several minutes. At the very top, the last obstacle is where you have to do basic rock climbing to reach the summit. Even then you have to have good footing. At the top of all the rocks, you have reached the summit and can see the beautiful view. I will greatly respect your hiking skills if you summit Mt.
