Mount Rushmore Research Paper

The new group of Americans for the reconstruction of Mount Rushmore are mainly industrialists from the Gilded Age(1870-1890). In brief, the Gilded Age contributed to the 2nd Industrial Revolution. Factors that made the 2nd Industrial Revolution possible were natural resources, growing labor forces, expanding markets(consumers) and availability of capital investment(people investing in companies). The federal government's role during the Gilded Age was to promote industrial growth, create high tariffs on imported goods, grant land to railroads and further removal of Native Americans. The men whose faces are embossed on the new Mount Rushmore are John O’ Sullivan, Edwin Drake, Cornelius Vanderbilt and Andrew Carnegie.
