We continue to camp three with everyone in mostly good health. Upon reaching camp three, the weather was very cold and team members begin to lose mental acuity and suffer from frostbite risk. The environmentalist was suffering from asthma, I instructed the doctor to administer an inhaler to her. We reached camp three, the environmentalist recovered and the team’s health has improved. This was a major win because otherwise the environmentalist may have needed to be rescued. On day four, we opted to stay at camp three to wait out the weather and give the teams failing health a rest. This is a major lesson learned. It was extremely cold and the team’s health did not improve. We should have continued to camp four and took the extra day before the summit.
