There are over 1500 active volcanoes is the world. Sometimes we do not know when a volcano is going to erupt, but most of the times the volcano itself gives early signs of eruption. Some of those signs are small earthquakes beneath the volcano, swelling or increase heat and gases coming out of the volcano. A volcano is a mountain or hill, having a crater or vent where lava, rock fragments, hot vapor, and gases are being released from the earth's crust. One of the many active volcanos in the world is Mount Agung. Mount Agung to this day is still one of the many active volcanos in the world. Mount Agung is located in Bali, Indonesia. It is located southeast of Mount Batur. Mount Agung is a stratovolcano, located in a subduction zone and it is the highest point of Bali. Mount Agung controls most of the climate in Bali. Recently it has been showing signs of eruptions. Volcanic Activity is still very high after almost 50 years of the last eruption. Steam and rumblings are some of the signs it's giving off that sooner than later it is going to erupt. It has been struck by a total of 253 earthquakes. Volcanologist believe that an eruption is gonna happen anytime soon. People were being evacuated because of signs of the volcano was giving off. Mount Agung reached its highest point which led to that believe. If this volcano were to erupt again it would be horrible. Mount Agung is located in the Indo-Australian Plate. It is part of the ring of fire, usually most of the volcanos in the ring of fire have very explosive eruptions. Unlike shield volcanos, this is a stratovolcano, if the magma is viscous the explosion is very dangerous. That is because gases are trapped inside the magma with a lot of pressure and when the volcano erupts those gases are released and the gases separate from the magma which cause huge ash clouds that can be very
