Job description: Motorcycle mechanics repair and maintain the bikes that people bring into their shops. Some motorcycle mechanics may also work on all- terrain vehicles, motor scooters, and snowmobiles. Motorcycle mechanics usually follow a checklist to find out which parts are operating normally and which aren't, when maintaining a bike. If a motorcycle breaks down completely, a mechanic uses various techniques to assess the problem. In the spring and summer when people typically use their motorcycles more, mechanics are usually busier with repairs. However, for areas that have cold winter weather, some mechanics may work less than 40 hours a week.
