Motivation In Flowers For Algernon

In today’s society many people need motivation and intelligence to succeed in society. Although I do think that intelligence is important, I think that motivation is key. Many questions asked are, how do you gain the intelligence? How do you succeed in life? Or even how do I study? A simple answer may be to have motivation, but let’s go further into why Motivation can help you benefit in life and goals that you may have.
To thrive in life you need to motivate yourself to achieve higher and greater goals. In Flowers for Algernon, Charlie had a goal to become smarter, and be like his friends. To gain intelligence, Charlie needed to motivate himself, and to push himself, even though he might have felt drained, and not up to working all of the time. There is a reason for Charlie to want to have a high intelligence level though. In life, being smart is crucial, and can benefit you in many ways. On the other hand, being intelligent can depict your futter in many ways. There comes a day in any person's life where you can choose to go to college or not. If you do choose the route of going to college, than you want to be able to go to a stellar one. To do this you need to have exceptional grades, and you need to be intelligent.

The answer to this is to motivate yourself to study even though you might not feel that it is fun. In the book Charlie lost to Algernon numerous times and wanted to give up. Although Charlie was tired he beat algernon because of his attitude and motivation. Even though Charlie didn’t have the intelligence yet he still pushed himself, and look where that landed him. In life if you don’t push yourself to your limit you might fail. People have many different levels of intelligence, however if you motivate yourself to achieve your goals of becoming smarter, then you can land there from hard work and dedication, of studying and doing your school
