Motifs In The Spirale Bar

The motif that caught my eye throughout the movie repeatedly would be the shape, circle. While watching the movie, I noticed that there were lots of circles. All the street signs, all the clocks, and even the tunnels that Lola runs through. There was one shot that showed a security guards hat, it shows a circle. Often, it shows the circle of the Bolle logo and the spiral at the Spirale bar. Also, there is a circular shaped piece of jewelry that Lola has on her finger. At one point in the film, we see a Mercedes symbol that has a round look to it.

Throughout the entire movie, there are many symbols of circles, which made me think if it had a deeper meaning to it. I believe that the circle represented a never-ending cycle of life.
