Motherhood is the state or experience of having and raising a child. No child should grow up without a mother. Every mother she enjoy their child and love their child. Maya grew up with her mother when she was younger then she moved to be with her grandmother, who raised her to be a young respectful woman. “Our parents had decided to put an end to their calamitous marriage, and father shipped us home to his mother” (Angelou 5). Her parents should not have sent their children’s to live with their grandmother because they are the ones who supposed to take care of their children’s, and enjoy the life of motherhood. That’s all motherhood is about raising your children’s. In “I know why the caged bird sing”, Maya became a mother to a little boy.
