The film the Letters by William Riead, explains the story of Mother Teresa from the point of view of Vatican priest Father Benjamin Praagh. He was the Father in charge of investigating the life and events following Mother Teresa of Calcutta death and path to canonization and saint hood. Mother Teresa wanted to be a Missionary and help the poor. She discovered her calling at the age of 12. Mother Teresa took her vows and becomes a nun back in May 24, 1931 in Dublin Ireland. Mother Teresa left to India as a Loreto Sister teaching young girls in the convent. Mother Teresa observed the reality of the neglected people in the streets. The violence from that time caused many to be out in the streets without food and shelter. Mother Teresa noticed a family just outside the convent walls; she left the convent to bring them food. It is there that she realized she must help. She refers to it as a “Call within a Call” Mother Teresa confronts Mother General about helping the poor. Mother General believe this is mischievous and disapproves of her decision. …show more content…
When we help each other, we can overcome the obstacles of this life. It is amazing to learn more about her work as it continues after her death. Mother Teresa suffered greatly and had many struggle for many decades providing those less fortunate. Mother Teresa gave all her life to love and serve others. This film begins to investigate her life to recognize her saint hood by the church. She was well know humanitarian. She was but an instrument of God, humbled never wanting recognition. Furthermore, Pope Francis canonized Mother Teresa on September 4, 2016. Pope Francis said, in his homily “Mother Teresa, in all aspect of her life, was a generous dispenser of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone through her welcome and defense of human life, those unborn and those abandoned and
