Mother Teresa was an amazing woman who was an inspiration to our whole world. She was raised in a very religious family and always stayed holy and led a religious life. She had a calling to help others and opened many charities and schools which she was recognized for. She won many awards and got much recognition for her great charity. Mother Teresa was an amazing and influential woman because she always led a very religious life, only ared about others and helped them, and traveled, won many awards, and became a saint. She had many lung, kidney, and heart problems that got worse and worse. Even though she wasn’t very healthy, she traveled to Rome, Washington, and New York the summer before she died. In July 1997, she returned to the Motherhouse where she died on September 5 at 9:30 PM. Her body was taken to St. Thomas’s Church which was next to the Loretto convent that she arrived at 69 years ago. She received at state funeral on September 13. Many people from all over the world came to see the sight and pay their respects. At the funeral, her body was taken through the whole town of Calcutta on a gun carriage. In 2002, a miracle was recognized by the Vatican that involved an Indian woman who was suddenly cured from an abdominal tumor after praying to Mother Teresa. On October 19, 2003, she was beatified taking the name Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. Another miracle involved a man who had serious brain surgery and woke up with no pain or bleeding completely healed. This allowed her to become canonized which happened on September 4, 2016. This was led by Pope Francis and tens of thousands of people attended.
