Mother Teresa, a Modern Day Hero
Ever thought of helping people? Lending a hand to those who are in need? Mother Teresa has helped a profuse amount of individuals. Mother Teresa was born August 27, 1910 in Skopje, Albania. Named as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, she is the daughter of Nikola and Dranafile Bojaxhiu. She is one of three children in the family [originally, there were five children]. She came from a family devoted and committed to church related activities. Mother Teresa is considered as a modern day hero because she has helped people through her missions, charity works, and her heroic deeds [such as: caring, humble, and selflessness].
Mother Teresa has helped an abundant amount of people throughout her entire life. When she was 12, that was the time when she felt that she needed to help the poor. It all started from there. Mother Teresa dedicated herself to God and by the time she was eighteen, she became a nun. Becoming a nun influenced her to become who she was because joining the Irish nuns who went to Calcutta, India to carry out a mission expanded her desire to help the poor. She started training in Ireland and India respectively. After that, she then served as a principal in an all-girls high school. She has dedicated her life helping people any way possible. Served "the unwanted, the unloved, the uncared for" ("Mother Teresa." Biography.com), that is what Mother Teresa did until her health deteriorated. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India where sisters, brothers, and volunteers helped and befriended those who were rejected and abandoned. She even entered a war zone in Lebanon just to rescue the innocent children that were trapped in an orphanage because of the negligence of the staff members.
