Pocahontas- The daughter of the chieftain Powhatan, through her actions and affiliation with the colonists of Jamestown, she saved the colony. This led to Jamestown’s success and to the increase of settlements in America, leading to the complete colonization of America.
Thomas Paine- Author of The American Crisis and Common Sense, Thomas Paine was responsible for inspiring passion for the Revolutionary War. He not only communicated his ideas about the Revolutionary War to the educated, but also to the poor farmers, making sure to leave no one out and get all social classes behind the idea of a revolution.

He fought as a General in the Revolutionary War and proved to be an intellectual and great leader of all people. He set the foundations for the presidency in his first term and focused on foreign affairs in his second, leaving a lasting impact that still affects people today.
Alexander Hamilton- Alexander Hamilton was the first Secretary of the Treasury and a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. He fought in the Revolutionary War and helped lead to the war’s end. He was a major influence in politics and was a supporter of a strong central government. He also convinced New York to agree to the ratification of the U.S. Constitution which is the constitution that is still used today.
Sacajawea- Sacajawea was the daughter of a Shoshone chief. She helped Lewis and Clark as an interpreter for their westward expedition. She not only helped translate for them but also helped them to survive by finding edible plants and getting supplies for them so that they could continue their exploration of the west. Harriet Beecher Stowe- Stowe was the author of the novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Her book brought on a huge wave of new abolitionists. It told how a slave’s life was in the South and how they were treated. The North did not like slavery in the South once they truly realized what was happening there. People became passionate about abolishing slavery and many more people would work against it. Her book was one of the reasons that the North got behind the idea of the abolition of slavery and gave incentive to fight in the Civil War, not only to preserve the Union, but to free that
