1. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

The above quote is from Jesus Christ. I take the quote as a way of saying pay the kindness shown to you forward. Jesus didn’t mean do blindly emulate his candidness, he meant that as he as others have shown love—show your own compassion to others. To always be kind and welcoming. Jesus himself, would have taken the significance as his words as a reflection of God’s will. He believed that the will of God was the true path forward, and that sharing love and kindness was a big part of that.

2. “I want to change their minds not kill them for weaknesses we all possess.”
Gandhi was the person that spoke the quote above. To me, it means that our enemies share the same weaknesses as us (greed, selfishness, etc.) and that we should try to empathize with them. That anyone could be a villain to another, and that killing people won’t solve problems, changing the way people think will. Gandhi was a man of peace. He always tried to solve problems with his wisdom. The quote is a reflection of how he preferred diplomatic relations to forceful ones.

On our phones, computers, tablets, and more—we always moving data around. We rarely however, take time to just enjoy life. To just look around and let the world move on its own. The quote stems from Native American spirituality, which relies heavily on just letting nature take control. Ann Wilson would have been one to appreciate just letting things

Gandhi’s quote gives his opinion that your faith in humanity shouldn’t be lost over a person’s betrayal because humanity is diverse and uses a simile comparing humanity to an ocean. The simile is important because it is comparing humanity to a clean ocean, and the untrusted are drops of dirty water. Gandhi use of a simile, “Humanity is like an ocean” to define that Humanity is much too large to lose faith in. Gandhi also puts it further in perspective that drops of dirty water; representing a lost in trust with someone, which he says, “the ocean does not become dirty.” The simile Gandhi used, it’s purpose is to explain that losing faith in humanity, losing trust in humans; should never be done because whomever came to that conclusion must know…

Out of all the quotes that I saw the ones that I adored most were ones about your future and your past. Steve Jobs really portrays this in the quote “you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.
