The movie High Noon and the short story The Most Dangerous Game have many differences on where the main characters are and what's happening to them. High Noon, a movie released in 1952, is a revenge story where Will Kane is hunted down by a dangerous criminal named Frank Miller. When Kane needs help, everyone abandons him. The short story, The Most Dangerous Game, released in 1924, is about a man named Rainsford who washes up on Ship-Trap Island, meets a man named General Zaroff, and he tries to hunt and kill Rainsford. so the main characters might have a lot in common, but where and how they're put threw it is very different. The conflict in The Most Dangerous Game shows how a hunter is hunted. "The general made one of his deepest bows. 'I see,' he said. 'Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford.' He had never slept in a better bed, Rainsford decided, " (Connell 15). This quote proves that Rainsford was turned from hunter to hunted, and the only way to win was to hunt Zaroff. Without hunting Zaroff, Rainsford would have had no chance at winning the game. In High Noon, the conflict is a revenge story about Frank Miller coming back to town and trying to kill Kane. " 'Will, I think you ought to go while there's still time. It's better for you -- and better for us...' " (Foreman 81-82). Kane knows that nobody will help him and they're saying the town is better off if he leaves. After asking for help against Miller, he is abandoned and has no one to rely on. Rainsford couldn't rely on anyone because he was a hunter turned into the hunted, and Kane was ditched. This shows how different the two conflicts

While he was on the boat I found it weird that no one noticed he was gone.…
