It was the morning after the General’s death. Rainsford began to awake in the comfiest of beds belonging to the recently deceased General Zaroff. Still tired and sore from last night's strenuous activities he began to get dressed in the finest of clothes before heading downstairs for breakfast.

He’d planned to leave this horrific island once he found a boat headed to Rio, he thought he could still catch up with Whitney and join him on the yacht for a ride home. Although he couldn’t even think of hunting after what the General put him through.

On his way to the kitchen, he spotted the dining room table filled with the largest assortment of foods fit for a king. There were endless amounts of tropical fruits imported from all over the world including, sliced

For a second his heart dropped when he thought it could be the General until he was again reminded of how he killed him and hauled him off to the sea. If it wasn’t the General that who could it be? He wondered.

Soon enough he saw a tall, polished man dressed in a black suit carrying a briefcase approach him. The man spoke in a very snobby manner greeting Rainsford with, “What a pleasure it is meet the great Sanger Rainsford, worldwide hunter, author and now the winner of the most dangerous game.”.

Rainsford sat there for a moment that felt like a million years, frozen. He wanted to talk but his mouth wouldn’t form the words. Numerous questions entered his mind but before he could bring himself to formulate a sentence the man once again began speaking. “I can’t believe you did it. You were the one to finally end the interminable Mr Zaroff. I have to say I am impressed and this gives me hope for your next challenge.”.

Rainsford still sitting in shock managed to reply with “Who are you and exactly how do you know me?” His voice sounded much smaller and weaker than usual, almost
