A head injury is trauma inflicted to the scalp, skull, or brain. A head injury can be either open or closed. The skull will usually protect the brain from harm but in some cases, it gets broken (open.) The most common type of head injury is concussions. Concussions happen frequently in sports especially football where there is a lot of contact. Other common causes of head injuries would be motor vehicle accidents, falls, and physical assaults.
Symptoms of a head injury often include a headache, confusion, sleepiness, lightheadedness, unconsciousness, nausea, blood, or ringing in the ears. Problems with your eyes like the inability to focus them or loss of muscle control can also be a sign. Not all symptoms are visible. Depending on the severity
