Nicholas sparks is the author of the The Notebook which is the book this movie is based on which is obviously also called the Notebook. This movie was directed by Nick Cassavetes who has directed thirty-six movies in total according to google. Rachel McAdams is the main character in the movie and Ryan Gosling is the main character in the book even though this movie is about them as a couple the book focuses more on him but still talks about her often and vice versa. Ryan Gosling doesn't necessarily have a certain style of characters he plays but a majority of the roles he plays involve him being in a romantic relationship but not all. Rachel McAdams also a majority of the roles she plays involve a romantic relationship. Neither of them have won an Oscar YET, this movie has no sequels and I am very glad it doesn’t because it would terrible and underdeveloped. …show more content…
When I first watched movie I thought it would be your typical love story they fall in love happily ever after they're old they die together but this movie was different and after watching about one hundred times no exaggeration it leaves me with tears in my eyes and a different mindset on love. Even though my assumptions were completely wrong it was a great example of a love movie. This movie is honestly a classic and even though it is considered sappy it's an amazing sappy

In the article, Revenge of the Geeks by Alexandra Robinson, there are a lot of allusions to stars and their popularity in school, and how some of the biggest stars today were some of the least popular people in high school, and being different and embracing how different you may be will lead you to success someday. The author uses three different techniques to get her point across, one being the tone or her attitude toward the subject. “Taylor Swift’s classmates left the lunch table as soon as she sat down because they disdained her taste in music. Last year, the Grammy winner was the nation’s top-selling recording artist.” Robinson uses Taylor Swift’s story to make a point that a Grammy winner, a person who won one of the most prestigious…

You are not exactly sure why they have, you have never talked to them or even made contact of any kind yet you feel an attraction to them. Unbeknownst to you, your brain has made a snap judgement based off of “thin-slicing”. The book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell explores this idea of thin-slicing. Blink is divided into chapters that all begin with an anecdote that is supposed to introduce the main idea and after he dissects the anecdote so the reader can fully understand why it was chosen while seamlessly adding more information for the reader to digest.…

The two books that I will be examining are Mrs. Katz and Tush and The Rain Came Down. The first book, Mrs. Katz and Tush is written by Patricia Polacco that was published in 1994. For example, in The Outsiders, Hinton’s approach to challenges contrast Golding’s plot and the way they affect the story. On page 3, Ponyboy says, “Since Mom and Dad were killed in an auto wreck, the three of us get to stay together only as long as we behave.” (Hinton 3).…

In chapter 2 of Blink, “Malcolm Gladwell explores many different examples based on snap judgement, which is extremely quick, because it is based off of the thinist slice of information. One of the examples Gladwell explores that stood out to me would be priming, and the example in the book had students go through a set of five words, ten sets of them, and they were broken into two groups. In both groups, the students were suppose to make four word sentences out of the five sets of words and they had to do as quickly as they could and when they were done they had to walk down to the person leading the experiment and let them know that they were done. All of the words given to them were jumbled up, and all the words that didn’t belong in the…
