That young man’s body was Christopher McCandless, a 24-year-old Emory University Graduate. Chris McCandless had previously left Georgia to go on a 114-day journey cross country before finally starving to death in Denali National Park. Storytelling is a way to communicate to society in a way that creates a relatable instance such that the reader can see themselves, or a version of themselves, within the story. Storytelling also is a way to demonstrate the struggles of other individuals within a society that a reader my not experience directly, but can nonetheless gain a broader understanding of different struggles within society. Although there are many ways to utilize storytelling techniques, I will apply the approach of Rites of Passage to three of the novels we’ve read this semester. The Rites of Passage that I will be analyzing are those within the stories, Houseboy, Woman at Point Zero, and A Walk in the Night. In these stories I will argue that through the characters ', Toundi, Firdaus, and Willieboy, Rites of Passage there is a physical altercation that caused a stunt in their ability to grow emotionally as a character, thus disabling them to continue to their ultimate stage of their reincorporation into society.…

A work process analysis recommendation that I discovered within my department is with the connection between our vendor offices, the customers, and the back office. Verizon has hired vendor offices that offer customer service to its customer at a cheaper cost than it cost the company to employ someone as an actual Verizon employee. The problem with some of these vendors are that they are restricted access to some customer information due to state, country, company policies. This means that if a customer calls in about a missing payment some vendors are basically only able to file the complaint on behalf of the customer without collecting all of the information needed. Therefore once the complaints is filed by a vendor representative it takes…

He slowly approached the road that seemed to stretch forever to the north and bent east after about a mile on the southern bound lane. He looked back at the sun-bleached, rotting road and sighed. Although he lived disconnected from society, he felt as if he connected to something else.…

Nevertheless, it was increasingly cumbersome to travel miles from the forest that resides in this implacable tundra to the edge of the frigid ocean, which was decided to become the site of my immolation.
