Many residents were observed buying The Tribune newspaper and entertainment magazines such as People and Star. The magazines were geared toward the young females between the ages of 20 to 35 years. It seems like the most important media source to the residents is television as numerous dish antenna was seen throughout the whole community. Another important source of media for the residents is radio as people were seen listening to loud music in their cars. Print such as newspaper is the least important media source for the residents as only a few seniors were seen purchasing the newspapers.

Health risk to the community: Obesity is linked to poor diet and health, new services may have to be provided.
Person affected: 21.5% of Morro Bay residents including both males and females are affected by obesity.

Goal: Create community environments that encourage and support nutritious food and beverage choices.
Objective: By end of 2015, there will be increase in the percentage of adults in Morro Bay who will consume nutritious meals.
Interventions: 1) Promote retail obtainability of affordable healthy foods that meet the necessities of communities, especially those with inadequate access to nutritious foods. This involves: creating business models that support increased use of healthy, locally grown and minimally processed foods, especially in high-need areas of Morro Bay.
2) Implement policies and practices to lower overconsumption of sugary beverages, such as make pure, filtered water readily obtainable in public areas, worksites and recreation areas; educate the community regarding the risks associated with overconsumption of sugary beverages.
3) Implement policies and practices to increase access to reasonably priced nourishing foods for individuals living in care centers or adult homes.
