1. Introduction
Errors frequently made by students in learning the second/ foreign language. These are very important to be discussed not only by teachers but also by students themselves in order to know the students’ weaknesses so that the teachers can make remedial teachings and the students can learn from their own errors. Among those errors is morphological error. The objectives of this short essay are to find out the kinds of students’ morphological errors in writing recount text and to find out the difficulties faced by the students in writing recount text.
According to Knapp (2005: 224), Recount Text, basically it is written out to make a report about an experience of a series of related event. A recount is written out to inform an event or to entertain people. Recount Text is text function as for telling an incident in the past. Recount is to tell “what happened”. A recount text has a social function. The purpose of a social function is to retell an event with a purpose to inform or entertain the readers (Siahaan and Shinoda, 2008: 9).

Teachers provide different contexts for the learners to practice correcting errors on their own, since correction is for teaching not just for evaluation. Ferris (2004) assures that the students are able to correct and edit successfully the errors marked by their teachers if they are given the chance to do so.
