16 % of women and about 34 % of lesbians or gays has been sexual abused. 1 in 3 women will experience some form of sexual violence during their lives. Approximately 1 in 8 women will be raped sometime during their lifetimes and 78.7% of victims were first assaulted before their 18th birthday. Only about 9.8% of rapes were reported to law enforcement. If you try to research “Mormons and sexual abuse” almost nothing pops up. Why is that? Is it because Mormons would partake in activities such as sexual abuse? Or could it be that its not talked about, kind of like a don’t ask and I won’t tell?
