The area that I would like to talk about is Morgantown, West Virginia. To some,
Morgantown can be considered a tourist attraction. Home to the Big 12 Mountaineers, West
Virginia University has over 30,000 students alone. However, outside of the campus is a suburban area with a population of 30,855. With all of these people in this area of West
Virginia, it is very important that everyone stays connected. Whether it’s by using your phone or sending emails from your laptop, the internet is a necessity in Morgantown. With a broadband coverage of 92.8%, Morgantown ranks 7th for most coverage in West Virginia. With
19 providers, they are the third fastest city at 45.5 MBPS.

So, it is the states job to do what they can for the underprivileged residents that are being underserved broadband coverage.
As West Virginia University continues to grow, so does the race for more broadband coverage. Offering both residential and business providers, they also provide wired and wireless connectivity. Another way that Morgantown stands out more than other cities is that it has four public libraries that offer internet to the public. By doing this it allows anyone that truly wants to seek the use of the internet have the capability of using it. Its providers play a major role as well.
