In May 2017, I will be graduating from Morgan State University (MSU) with a B.S. in Information Science and Systems and a concentration in Accounting. It is my aspiration to pursue a multifaceted career as a Technical Business Analyst and Consultant as well as to expand my knowledge by obtaining my Masters degree and Ph.D. in Information Systems with Accounting as a discipline. My passion for Information Systems developed seven years ago as I attentively sat in computer class and became intrigued with each aspect of the content. It was then that I knew I wanted to be an expert within the technology arena. The desire to work in this capacity has only grown each time I am faced with the tech questions of “how do you …?” or “what’s wrong with my computer?” Although the issues may be complicated to …show more content…

Another accomplishment of mine was receiving 3rd place in Boeing’s annual Case Competition that focused on increasing efficiency while minimizing costs. These scholastic achievements have only logged me into my journey as a successful student and businessperson. Due to my success and demonstrated dedication, I was recommended and recruited to create a web portal for the use of prospective students of Morgan State University. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. I am a first-generation Latina student at The Ohio State University. Being from inner city Toledo, Ohio, I attended a public district where 80% of students received free or reduced lunch and the graduation rate was at an all time low of 49%. My parents had not graduated high school, therefore once college applications became relevant, they unfortunately could not help me. Through 25 different scholarships, I was able to attend OSU without any loans and truly believed I was on the right track to achieving the "American Dream". To my dismay, once classes began, I was lost.…

Personal Statement Almost everyone had a rod in hand as they walked through the main street headed for the pier or docks to try and reel in a tasty morsel for dinner. My interest towards attending Mercer University’s Physician Assistant is largely due to the emphasis the University puts on service to humankind through service learning and integrating volunteering. Being a founding institution that ingrains service to humanity entirely into its culture and academics, there is no doubt that Mercer would provide me with an exceptional opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills of a Physician Assistant providing whole person care to members of the community. Having worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in an underserved community, Kewaunee, Wisconsin, for some time now, I thoroughly understand how important providing effective care to those in need really is. During my experience I witnessed the appalling living conditions that many patients were surrounded by and how difficult accessing healthcare service was for them, thus enforcing medical illnesses to be even more likely to occur among them. I have personally observed how appreciative and grateful many of the patients and the families of the patients were when…

Although I have been an MU Tiger fan for years, my passion for Mizzou truly began when I attended the High School Mini Medical School for a week last summer. The beautiful campus, welcoming atmosphere, and everything that I learned regarding Mizzou while staying there only served to increase my desire to attend. The university offers me everything I am looking for in a college and more: an impressive nursing program, a large and diverse population of students, a phenomenal recreation center, and NCAA athletics to be involved in and excited about! True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…
