Mordred stood perfectly still, his face emotionless as he pointed his gun at Shawna. Vivien was perfectly happy playing along, but at this point she was unsure. “Okay, Mordred,” she said gently. “I think this has gone far enough.” “It’s not over yet, Vivien,” Mordred shot back. “Not until they’re both dead.” “Wait a second,” Shawna cut in. “Mordred didn’t kill Merlin.” Mordred smirked. “I know.”
He pulled the trigger. Shawna stood frozen, knowing she could stop the bullet but unable to move. Her mind had stopped working altogether. Before she knew it, Arthur was in front of her. Next thing, they were both on the ground. “Arthur!” Shawna cried out, cradling his face in her hands. “Damn,” he laughed, looking at the mass amount of blood

“He is not going to die,” she said through clenched teeth. “The line’s busy,” Rion joined back in. “How could it possibly be busy?” Shawna muttered, taking off her jacket to press against Arthur’s wound. “We live in North Brontide.” “Persy, get the car,” Orion voiced. Persy nodded and took off towards her car. “Arthur,” Shawna shook Arthur gently as his eyelids drooped. “Stay with me, baby. You’re gonna be fine.” Arthur smiled, his eyes opening slightly. “I know,” he said. “You’ll take care of me.” Rion knelt down beside them and placed his hand on Shawna’s wrist. “C’mon,” he whispered. “Help me get him up.” Slowly, the eased Arthur off the ground and tied Shawna’s jacket by the arms around his back. Persy’s car rolled up on the grass as they gently lifted Arthur to his feet. “Please, let me help,” Vivien took a step towards them. Shawna glared at her, her eyes flashing crimson again. “Back the hell away,” she growled. “You’ve done enough already. The five of them piled into the car. Arthur was sprawled out in the backseat, his head resting on Shawna’s lap and his feet across Vivien’s. Mordred’s accomplice sat quietly for the entire drive, wanting to apologize but knowing that Shawna would have none of
