Many students struggle to concentrate, and those who embrace their very short time in high school are always busy. There are so many different activities to get involved with in high school, like sports, drama, arts, musics, and more. If one student were to be involved in just two of those, try to imagine how busy they might be with homework on top of that. Stress is the second leading cause of suicide in teens. Would you rather have teenagers committing suicide, or would you rather them cheat, because I’m pretty sure that I know what I would choose. If you simply google the words “highschool makes me” and look at the top four outcomes, I think you will be pretty disappointed. The results are “cry”, “want to die”, “depressed”, and “stressed”, and I have seen people buzzing about this all over the internet. You may, or may not, know about a situation that has recently been stirred up at the Waverly - Shell Rock High School. A student has made some pretty poor decisions, to say the least, and has been properly charged 5 times. These chargers involve 6 total people, whose names I will not mention for the sake of their well being. With that said, I, and my family, do not think that the school is going about this in the right way. They have adapted to the problem on a small scale, but they do have the option to make drastic changes until this goes through court. The law cannot and will not get involved at school, since W-SR has their own policies, they expect the school to take action. It states in our own school policy, that if a student is charged with only three, then they have the option to expel them. He is still waltzing around the school with all 5 of the victims near by every single day. I know that my parents are outraged by this, and I would assume that the others are also. We have to watch him be around his friends everyday and walk around like absolutely nothing has happened. We are being harassed by both him and his friends almost everyday, and I feel like we have all just gotten used to it. Christine Pelton is somebody who I now look up to, because she had the integrity to make the right choice and give the students what they deserved. W-SR lacks in integrity, and
