The boiling point How has life changed from year to year? Life changes every year, as a matter of fact, but what about the past sixty-four years? A lot can change in such a long time, at least you would think. Of course styles change, relationships change, So much changes! So much changes that you would think the way we act would change. The way we present ourselves would be more civil like. But how different do we really act compared to 1952, when The Crucible was written? Arthur Miller once said, “Betrayal is the only truth that sticks.” And I think that us, as humans, find that true still to this day. In The Crucible Arthur Miller talks of reputation, respect, compassion, religion, justice and jealousy. The whole town is flooded with …show more content…
We all crave it. May it be from peers, supervisors or anyone in our lives? But we don’t determine peoples respect towards us by us alone. In Act one of The Crucible we learn that when Parris says: “I have fought here three long years to bend these stiff-necked people to me, and now, just now when some good respect is rising for me in the parish, you compromise my very character.” Look at whom you surround yourself with. Most likely what people think of them they will think of you. Amy Chan once wrote in an article for The Huffington Post “The people you surround yourself with, you become.” Which is a statement that I have heard many times from my father. We are told that we are, our friends. Surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, not the worst. So if you want to be respected surround yourself with those that are respected and bring out the best in …show more content…
You may be jealous of a friend, neighbor, peer or anyone really. Jealousy is expected in life. In The Crucible Abigail is jealous of Elizabeth Proctor because she wants John as her own. She goes as far as to say she wants Elizabeth dead, so she can be with John. Everyone has reasons to be jealous of someone. But to what terms would you be willing to go to get what aspect you are jealous of? And that’s where everyone is different. Some are willing to go that extra step to get what they want, while others expect it to be handed to them. In the end we should strive for other people to be jealous of us, and for us to be jealous of no

In all of acts, Chapter 5 really stood out to me because it shows that God can use the worst situations for good purposes. The first part of this chapter talks about Ananias and Saphirra. When you sell a piece of property, you’re supposed to give ALL the money to the apostles, so that they could use it to benefit God’s kingdom. Instead, Ananias kept part of the money for himself. This shows that he had a lack of faith that God would provide for his needs.…

In this paragraph Charlie hasn't been capable of handling his emotions properly and has been furious due to his intelligence decreasing. Secondly when Charlie was upset because one of his neighbors had made a noise complaint which resulted with the owner coming and talk to Charlie and after they had left he got so heated that he started throwing and breaking things such as his records,…
