Moral Dilemma

My first job ever was in a call center company as customer service representative. I got the position after successfully passing examinations given during a job fair in our school. As a fresh graduate who did not have any job experience before, I was really excited that time. I had been hearing good and bad things about the call center industry before, but since I was really excited to earn, and really eager to evolve as a person by working, the positives overshadowed the negatives. The job fair was conducted weeks before graduation, and I was able to get the position immediately, it was an on-the-spot hiring. While we were waiting for our graduation day, the excitement in me had been growing dramatically. Not only because of the upcoming graduation ceremonies, but also because of the …show more content…
Pay is really good compared to other jobs of degree holders. To be a call center agent, the minimum requirement now for many companies is at least a high school graduate. That is one of the reasons why many are trying their luck to be a part of this industry, despite the stress and other adverse factors that they might face, they are all willing to face those because of the good pay they will be receiving, plus the wide variety of incentives for agents whose performance are really exemplary. There are also numerous times when top agents are sent abroad as part of their incentives and perks of being a top agent. Those are just some of the rewards call center agents receive if they are really performing well. The pros and cons that I mentioned above were not present to me before I started with the job. I had been hearing good and bad things before I started. I even had an idea of what life would be when I entered the call center industry. But all of those things that I had in mind were all nothing but hearsays. I still had not experienced the ups and downs, which made me more excited in entering the
