Pro Life Supporter's Argument In Favor Of Abortion

The topic of abortion will stir up ethical, legal and religious sentiments throughout the nation, as it is highly debatable. Although a subjective choice, many people believe that abortion is illegal and most of all, immoral. Your Pro-Life Supporters use science, religion, and personal rights to combat a woman’s right to the basic reproductive freedom. On the other side of the argument, Pro-Choice Supporters believe that the government should not put restrictions on a woman’s choice to terminate her pregnancy due to diverse life situations. According to a study completed by the Guttmacher Institutes, “…one in three [women] have faced an unintended pregnancy in their life.”, and, “About half of women who unintentionally become pregnant turn to abortion.” (Insert citation) Putting math to this statement, this equates to 1.5 million women who turn to abortion each year. If Pro-Life supports were to get their way, that means 1.5 million women would have to unwillingly bring a child into the world, in which that family would face numerous challenges. Abortion is a moral decision that laws should not prohibit …show more content…
Wade was wrong, and should be upended by the judicial system. One judge, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said that said that the crucial right to privacy, which the 1973 case ruled against, was “utterly idiotic”. (Insert citation) However, the Roe vs. Wade court ruling made way for the legalization of a procedure that had high death rates prior to this time. The Guttmacher Institutes study showed that prior to this ruling, illegal abortion accounted for around 201 deaths a year. The mortality rates do call into question the morality behind the situation. If the case was overturned, and a woman was in need of an abortion, she would find a way, legal or not. Therefore, we would be forcing women to put their lives at risk again. The ruling is in place to save lives, not condemn

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…

There are two main sides to this issue, and that is either the pro-choice side, or the pro-life side. After examining the following evidence people may see that pro-life is a better option to pro-choice. The following articles will prove how some people choose to be pro-choice because they don’t even want to listen to the other side, and when morality is brought into the argument, pro-life seems to be the more appealing selection.…

Did you know from Roe v. Wade in 1973 to 2011, about 53 million legal abortions were performed in the United States - an average of 1.4 million a year? The debate over whether or not abortion should be legal continues to divide this country today long after the Supreme Court’s 7-2 ruling on Roe v. Wade declaring the procedure a fundamental right on January 22, 1973. There are three different views on the issue of abortion: the extreme conservative view, the extreme liberal view and moderate view, which lie in between both extremes. The extreme conservative view, identifying themselves as anti-abortionists (also known as being pro-life), contend that personhood begins at conception, therefore abortion by their definition is homicide. The second view on the issue of abortion is the extreme liberal view.…

A woman who lacks the ability to manage her fertility lacks the ability to manage her own life, and banning abortion would be a direct violation of a woman’s privacy. The main reason most people want abortion banned is because they think a fetus is a mortal and it is religiously as well as morally wrong to kill what they believe to be living. Not all people in America are christians, though. Take away that aspect of it and there is no real argument against abortion. Morality is about the wellbeing of real live beings who can feel pleasure and pain, preference and intention, who at their most complex can live in relation to other beings, exchange emotion and delight in their own existence.…

Wade was a turning point in terms of legislation, everything with the sole purpose of protecting the integrity of the mother/unborn child. To understand its impact and the the importance of legislation on this topic, history prior to Roe v. Wade, needs to be reviewed. The Great Depression triggered the practice or unregulated abortions, and by 1931, such “procedures were responsible for 14% of maternal deaths” (Wilson). By 1960’s women who wanted to abort found themselves travelling to different countries or getting assistance from underground systems, who helped them get an affordable, somehow safe, but still illegal abortions. In the early 1970’s, polarization was at one of the highest peaks, since 4 States in the Union legalized abortion, yet two Supreme Court cases, People v. Belous and Doe v. Scott (1971), declared it as unconstitutional, which triggered the challenging of state laws.…

Abortion is a major topic of discussion that divides candidates and fuels intense debate every election season. It is often a controversial topic to discuss because it deals with two very fundamental human rights: the right to life and the right to free will. Much of the issue surrounding this topic is reliant on the fact that religion and personal privacy conflict with each other. Pro choice advocates argue that the option of exercising an abortion is solely up to the family and the government has no jurisdiction to get involved in such sensitive decisions. Meanwhile, pro life supporters place heavy emphasis on morality and ethics, stating that such actions are deemed as inhumane and is a violation of both religious beliefs and human rights.…

Another topic that has been used against pro-choice supporters and abortionists is the topic of abortion being “immoral”. Pro-life supporters talk about the immorality of abortion by saying that it is the murder of babies. On the contrary, abortion is not even remotely close to murder. Murder, by definition, is the act of one human taking away the life of another human. The pregnancy is not a human yet and therefore, cannot be referred to as a human (even abortion doctors refer to the embryo as the pregnancy) which means that abortion is not equal to murder.…
