He repeatedly references what is written, God’s word, here he is like the sheep able to recognize his Father’s voice through all his temptations. He is always speaks to God and listens for him in his time here on earth. Mathew 4:7 “Jesus replied, “Again it’s written, Don’t test the Lord your God.” Here you can see Jesus as the Lamb of God: innocent, suffering, but still faithful to God.
