Moral And Ethical Issues In The Walking Dead

Ones of the most successful television show on American cable over the past few years is “The Walking Dead”. The Walking Dead first broadcast of October 31, 2010 to present have exemplify many critical issues concerned both moral and ethical principles of humanity in a post-apocalyptic future. Fun facts: the series is based on the highly successful comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, who was present during the filming of the first season. The pilot episode spans the first six issues of the comic book series (Thomas, The Walking Dead’ Synopsis and Other Essential Informations). Currently up-to-date, the show consists of 13 to 16 episodes per seasons (except for the first season); each season has its own dilemma and idealistic solution which helps transition smoothly into new problems. In this episode, the camp for survivors was separated between hunters and gathers. The hunters were adult men in their 30’s holding guns to provide safety from walkers and foods for the weaks and olds which is children and women in this case. The women were gatherers and provider like care for elders and helps educate kids. This is a typical case representing today’s society where sexism is still existed even when faced with extinction.
