Synthesis of the moon landing
Introduction
My synthesis is about the article ‘The Great Moon Hoax’ which shows the common reasons why people believe the 1969 moon landing was a hoax and shows reasons why that could have happened on the moon. As well as the article ‘The Faked Apollo Landings’ which tries to prove once and for all that the Apollo landings where faked.
Article 1 - The Great Moon Hoax
The first article that I am looking at (The Great Moon Hoax) tries to prove that the moon landings where real by analysing the rocks from the moon and using common sense to prove that the Apollo astronauts really did visit the moon. The first of the claimed hoaxes that they use common sense to disprove is that there are no stars in the pictures or

The writer goes on to mention the biggest piece of evidence that is the 841 pounds of Moon rocks that the astronauts brought back to Earth. Just like Christopher Columbus carried a few hundred natives back to Spain as evidence of his trip to the new world. According to Dr. David McKay moon rocks are absolutely unique he added “They differ from Earth rocks in many aspects.”. An example of which would be lunar samples have almost no water trapped in their crystalline structure, moon rocks are also totally absent of common substances such as clay minerals that are ubiquitous on Earth. They have found particles of fresh glass in Moon rocks that have been produced by explosive volcanic activity and meteoroid impacts over 3 billion years ago. Due to the presence of water on Earth such volcanic glass rapidly breaks down in only a few million years. Due to this Dr. Marc Norman says that “These rocks must have come from the Moon!”. Dr. McKay explains “Apollo moon rocks are peppered with tiny craters from meteoroid impacts.”. This should only happen to rocks from a planet with little or no atmosphere just like the Moon. Meteoroids are …show more content…
The first error that they believe that they have found with the footage is a flap that shows on a still picture that does not show up on the footage. In the photograph one of the astronauts was making a jumping salute that was taken by another astronaut with a Hasselblad camera, in the still photo there is a flap of triangular fabric that had become loose and flapped up behind the astronauts head. But on the TV film that was shot from behind the astronauts does not show the flap behind the astronauts head. The second mistake in the footage that they point out is when Apollo 11 is supposedly 130,000 miles away from Earth, Buzz Aldrin shows the very first view ever take of Earth taken on the mission, this seems strange to the writer as he was stood far from the window which causes light reflections that are evident towards the end of the footage. It is believed that the astronauts actually filmed a transparency of the Earth that they had stuck to the window. A few minutes after this the cameraman focuses on Mike Collins and it appears that it is possible to see an exposure of the earth that has been taped to the window that is in the background behind to the right behind him, which seems to be the very same window that Aldrin was filming the Earth out

The United States could have just landed on the moon for the attention and the pleasure of exceeding past another country. The evidence is missing and America could easily lie. However, the American flag is on the moon though and here is video of the Americans landing on the moon and placing the flag, which shows that Markin’s claim is invalid. Apollo 11 gave Americans the lead and bragging rights towards Russia and also other…

The largest crater has a floor covered by dark lava. It forms one eye of the “man in the moon.” Many small craters were formed when meteoroids hit the moon. Meteoroids are rocks or other objects that travel through space. Many large craters probably formed when larger objects, such as comets or asteroids, hit the moon. A few craters look like the tops of volcanoes.…

Many Americans can debate for or against the first moon landing being a hoax. “Bill Kaysing has claimed that the chance of a successful landing on the moon was calculated to be 0.0017% (1 in 60,000).” (Braeunig) Bill Kaysing is a writer who wrote about all the Apollo landings being hoaxes and basically started the whole theory. From the facts that are out there, the shuttle…

Theorists claim that this is due to that fact that the Apollo mission pictures were taken on the Earth, and astronomers would be able to figure out that the photos were taken from Earth. So to fix this conspiracists claim that NASA had a studio where they filmed the moon missions, surrounded, with a giant black screen, or they altered the pictures and removed the stars. However, there is a logical explanation as to why there are no stars. The moon is made out of regolith that is about four-to-five kilometers deep. The regolith has an albedo rating, telling how much light is reflected, between seven and ten percent (“Theories”).…

to land, the rockets activate and if the rockets activated properly, they should have caused a crater, but they didn’t. Why not? If the astronauts were trained in a fake moon environment, (which they were), they could have taken picture on a fake moon environment. The rocket could have been real, and went to space, but the astronauts could have slipped out a trap door, sent the rocket to space, and filmed in a studio, elsewhere. I believe that there is more genuine evidence that the moon landings were a hoax by the Americans, to win the space race and not to be embarrassed.…

Its purpose was to detect cosmic rays while in orbit; unfortunately the satellite failed to ignite on its fourth stage in its launch process and never made it to orbit. During the time of Explorer 2, the Soviets were also at work with Luna 2, this probe became the first to hit the moon but after 33.5 hours into flight the signals were dead. The US then created another satellite, the fourth satellite by America, and the first satellite to be solar-powered. They created the Vanguard 1, the first part of the Vanguard Project. Although communication with the satellite was lost in 1964, it remains the oldest artificial satellite still orbiting the Earth and the oldest piece of debris orbiting Earth.…

The moon is a place that we know little about and very few people are lucky enough to get to experience it in person. Some interesting facts that we know about the moon because of science are that the the moon rotates at 10 miles per hour compared to the earth's rotation of 1000 miles per hour. Only 59% of the moon's surface is visible from earth. From earth, we always see the same side of the moon;…

The Apollo Space Program was very important to many Americans and NASA because it dealt with sending astronauts into space and exploring the unknown solar system. That is why on April 11th, 1970, NASA launched three astronauts into space. This launch is known as Apollo 13, or the 13th launch out of Earth’s solar system. NASA sent three men, Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert, into space on the Apollo 13 mission. Initially, Lovell, the commander, and Haise, the lunar module pilot, were supposed to walk on the moon while Swigert, the command module pilot, stayed in the spacecraft in orbit, but an event on April 13th changed that plan.…
