The presence of nature is strong in this poem, but the meaning can also be perceived in various ways. The nature present in the poem can allude to the events of daily life. Nature contains major resources that are worn away by humans, just like humans can tear down other humans. The theme of the poem is pain and grieving. One tree grieves for the health of the other.…

As the Stage Manager in Our Town said, “Life goes on.” This quotation reveals that everything has a beginning and an ending. The play by Thornton Wilder, and Sounder by William H. Armstrong, contain three perfect examples of people who had survived as their loved ones passed away. These character examples are the boy from the novel Sounder, and George and Editor Webb from the play. The boy lost his father, and his dog.…
When I first listened to the song “Remember” by Mac Miller, it brought back so many unforgettable memories I had with my best friend Taegon who passed away. The main reason I picked this song was because it really taught me not to take things for granted and just to appreciate every moment you have with the ones you care most about. I first heard the song “Remember” about a week after Taegon passed away, while a couple friends and I were just hanging out in my car. My friend asked to see the aux cord and put the song on. All of my friends and I just went quiet and just sat there, and listened to the song.…
He admits that he was not sure how to deal with the loss since losing someone that was a big part of his life had never occurred before. I asked him if he would describe his reaction as “rage” He agreed that he was upset and did not know how to deal with death. Music played a huge role in him finding peace. It’s interesting because I use music as my outlet to deal with stress sometimes and relax This process of grief is also mentioned in “A contribution to the study of the Collective Representation of Death” by Robert Hertz. He classifies death as a process instead of the generally accepted opinion that death occurs in an instant.…

It was cancer and as I sixth grader I knew that cancer was a scary word typically used to describe some sort of disease that would later turn fatal. My grandfather wasn’t given a sentence, none of us were sat down by the doctor and told we sound be preparing our goodbyes, we were told that the cancer wouldn’t kill him and to go on living a normal life.…
Baba’s Eulogy Good evening ladies and gentleman, thank you for joining me in commemorating, mourning, and celebrating the death of my father today. It is no surprise that so many of you are here right now as it’s Baba’s selfless love and righteous behaviour that has left an impact on us. Even being deceased, Baba has the ability to unite people. You see, I had a lot of trouble trying to write this eulogy. These troubles consisting of the typical reactions in experiencing a loss - from my inability to fully accept his death, the loneliness that encompasses a mournful event, and the absolute disconnect one feels when your parent dies.…
The film “Monty Python’s Life of Brian” follows the life of Jesus’s Jewish contemporary, Brian, and his unwilling rise to messiahship. Some claim that “Life of Brian” ridicules faith in Jesus Christ, mocks His suffering, and offends people of Jewish faith. However, the film does not aim to insult its Christian or Jewish viewers; it is a satirical commentary on how people follow politics and organized religion. Some, such as Rev. William Solomon, argue that “Life of Brian” ridicules “faith in Jesus Christ” (Rawls). These claims are invalid; the filmmakers are respectful towards Christ’s teachings.…
The death of a loved one is never an easy thing to take in. As you go through the stages of mourning, it seems to get easier to accept it. I have never gone through the stages of mourning. Shedding tears was only a temporary thing that lasted less than a minute. That is because I learned to view death as a beautiful thing at an early age.…
The film, ‘About Time’, directed by ‘Richard Curtis’ highlights the importance of valuing time and the significance of savouring every moment. Tim, twenty one years old learns that he can travel back in time. He relives a series of moments, but learns that you can not always change what is meant to be. The film teaches viewers to not let their past define who they are because everything is meant to happen for a reason. It also adds to the concept of moving forward through tough times as dwelling on the past won’t change anything.…
He finally died after his fight with terminal bowel cancer. In the end I think his whole body was just cancer. My family was devastated. When I found out that he had cancer in the first place, I didn 't think anything could be worse.…
My whole outlook on life was shifted. It made me question many things, one of them being God. I questioned why He would do this; why He would take away someone who I know would have done so much good to this world. As life went on and I got older, it became easier to deal with this loss of a friend. It became easier to cope and be able to accept that he was gone.…
We all die. It’s an inevitable truth that we all face. Although we don’t know when death will catch up to us, we know that it’s one of the few things that you can count on in the world. Recently, there has a been a strong focus on helping individuals prepare for death and assist them in dying well. It’s counter-intuitive, to think about death as we are often told to embrace life, but since the dying process is the last chance you have to embrace life, preparing for it will hopefully enable you a deeper sense of satisfaction and provide closure.…
