There aren't many psychopaths, but the 1% of the population that is, isn't easy to perceive immediately. Montresor keeps a steady mischievous tone throughout the story, "The Cask of Amontillado". "You must not suppose, however, that I spoke of this to anyone", said Montresor from the story, "The Cask of Amontillado." Montresor was indeed, a psychopath, and carried many traits of one too.
The story focuses in on a man named Fortunato, a man who loves to drink fancy wine. On many occasions, he had bashed the name of Montresor, a man who was good at manipulating and keeping his thoughts to himself. The Amontillado, a very expensive and rare wine that many people wanted, was the perfect soft spot to hit Fortunato with, and Montresor knew that. Montresor gave Fortunato one of the greatest opportunities, to taste the Amontillado, for Fortunato thought.
