Montag all during the book is a very active and changing character. Whether it's towards the beginning or end of the book, Montag changes from different points and ideas. Montag begins with a very dingy personality and in a normal routine with his lackluster life and with all of Montag's different personality changes forms into a rebellious hero.
Montag's first pivotal moment for his changes was meeting Claresse. This was a big moment for Montag because she brought vividness to the table. Before montag killed beatty he was set up by beatty with a job which beatty said “Your house, your clean-up.( pg.109)” This point by beatty was to make montag pay for what he did and for beatty to protect his supremacy over the other men. Once beatty noticed the green bullet in montag's ear and threatened to “ Trace it and drop in on your friend.( pg.112)” This threat from beatty set off montag because montag adopted feeling for faber and wanted to protect his friend. Montag yelled “No… ‘he switched the safety catch on the flame thrower. Beatty glanced instantly at Montag’s fingers and his eyes widened the faintest bit.’( pg.112)” Beatty kept pressing montag saying “hand it over guy.( pg.113)” Montag's newly released anger pushed him to “ shot one continuous pulse of liquid fire on him.( pg.113)” This last change was the change from selfishness to emotional. This last change made Montag just like he said Clarisse “ her favorite person isn’t herself, it was everyone else.( pg.68)” This was Montag’s most important change during the whole book.
In Conclusion Montag was changed by the opinion and idea’s of different people. Montag changed because of his curiosity and willingness to listen to others opinions. His character swayed him to change and morph into a guy who actually had a purpose in his life instead of mindlessly living in a routine. This is how Montag changed and morphed through the whole
