I think that the theme in ¨Monsters are Due on Maple Street¨ by Rod Sterling, is that fear can make you act out in ways that you usually wouldn’t. In the story, a strange object flew over a Maple Street, a part of a neighborhood. All of the power went out, including the cars. The people that lived on that street started blaming other people of calling the monster’s there. They all went crazy. In the end, you could see these two figures talking about how it happens the same every time. At the beginning of the story it states, “[Don approaches the group, stops a few feet away to look toward Goodman's car and then back toward the group.] And he never did come out to look at that thing that flew overhead.
