One classic monster is Frankenstein's monster. Frankenstein’s monster has abnormal physical features and inhumane behaviors. It is extremely tall and has bolt through his neck. It murdered people like Frankenstein's friend in the story. Frankenstein's monster actually represents the fear of technology that the technology could no longer be manipulated by scientists and thus causing tragedies. Their appearances can be exactly the same as any normal human being and they could be not violent at all. The key point they are called monsters is because of their irrational or even inhumane behaviors that could trigger our fear. For example, uncontrollable kids just like my cousin could cause many troubles. She is only 4 years old but she could be so enraged for not getting treats from her parents and started yelling and crying nonstop. Seeing them evokes our fear of not being able to control little kids and they might cause troubles to people around them when they grow up. Same principle applies to ill-tempered adults. When they turn irrational, they could do crazy, illogical things like deleting everything in your mobile or computer. That’s why we are afraid of them and call them monsters. They are called monsters is not simply based on their appearances or the level of violence in these cases. They are monsters because they trigger our fear by their irrational behaviors. To sum up, monster doesn't have to have non-human physical features or violent behaviors as many people think.
