The Convenient Truth
During final’s exam week, students tend to procrastinate and stress out. With that, they do not earn enough sleep. Resulting in the consumption of an energy drink, such as Monster. This product made its debut around 2002. From there, the production has sky rocketed since the beginning of the century till now. Throughout that span, the Hansen Beverage company has been accused of many health-related problems despite their increase in sales each year; it’s price is much higher than a normal beverage but has a unique taste making it addictive. The company started out with juices and natural soda beverages at the beginning but later started expanding with the creation of Monster Energy Drink. This was a success since the market had hardly any competition. Since the rise of the product its sales have increased significantly every year. However, there has been many cases involving health related issues. In 2011, a monster was found in one of the cans. Vitaliy Sulzhik (consumer) sued the company after finding a dead rat inside the can. After multiple tests it was confirmed that the rat was neither poisoned or traumatized. Furthermore, there has also been several cases involving death. According to the Federal Drug Administration, 11 deaths have been confirmed due to the consumption of Monster. Although its success in sales, Hansen Beverage Company has been sued multiple times for its causes of death. Not only is Monster Energy Drink addictive but it has a soothing taste. Without a doubt Monster has a nice mixture of flavors but they’re not the best choice to take. Most consumers claim that Monster tastes like Sprite mixed with Mountain Dew and with excess amounts of sugars and caffeine to give an extra boost of energy. Not to mention the other fatal ingredients that are also included. There are multiple Monster Energy Drinks on the market. Despite its ingredients most people prefer the original flavor (green) since it has an original flavor of an energy drink. Others have said, “Monster taste like going to high school and going to summer band camp in the Texas heat. All in all, Monster Energy Drinks have a vast majority of flavors with satisfying flavors
Moreover, if a person decides to buy a drink of Monster the best place to get it is at a corner store. The price ranges from $1.50- $2.50 making it a bit more pricey than other beverages. Despite its cost, its content is much worse. Many consumers purchase this beverage either way causing an addiction. That is because Monster contains caffeine, a stimulant which cause dependency towards the drink. In fact, consuming only 100 g of caffeine daily overtime can turn it into a habit. Aside from that, a normal beverage is much more convenient than a Monster since it is less expensive and won’t cause much health
