In today’s technology, we can safely assume that GMOs can be produced and engineered in many different ways. There’s a leading multimillionaire genetic company called, Monsanto. Monsanto is an engineering company designed to alter and change organisms in their labs. Like for example, Monsanto would take a seed of an organism and alter its DNA in the way farmers would like it. Monsanto alters DNA and then instead of always farming their own seeds, they sell their DNA altered seeds also known as GMOs to third party buyers, such as small farmers, or go as big as trading in the international businesses around the world. Second and third world countries are undeveloped and under resource countries. Majority of the time countries like these suffer from food deserts meaning that there’s not enough fresh markets and groceries around. That’s sometimes due to low water irrigation or because of low funds for high maintenance crops. This is a situation where genetically modified organisms come in. With the help of genetically modified organisms an engineering company like Monsanto or Bioengineer can make an international transition and sell low maintenance foods. This means that even though the land is really rough to build crops, the soil is non- fertile, the waiting period is long, along with all the negatives. Our engineering companies can alter those seeds to be low maintenance. Not only will it be low maintenance, but they can also alter to make the organism rich in nutrients as well. That’s a win - win situation for the engineering companies because they make profit and the people of the country get to have their nutrients. Therefore, I believe that GMOs should be used in our food system at some range because it can help us feed many people in short
